What is the Energize Project?

This initiative aims to “Ignite, Inspire, and Energize” computer science education across Louisiana. The Energize Project offers a unique opportunity for up to 1,000 6th through 12th-grade public and public charter school teachers to receive 40 hours of comprehensive training in preparation for the Computer Science Praxis exam (5652).

Here’s what you can look forward to:

FREE 40-HOUR TRAINING: 

Receive comprehensive training at no cost, equipping you with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in computer science education.

PRAXIS EXAM COVERAGE: 

The Energize Project covers the expenses for the Computer Science Praxis exam, ensuring that you are fully prepared for success.

$350 Stipend: 

Upon completion of the workshop, you’ll receive a stipend of $350 as a token of appreciation for your commitment to advancing STEM education.

VIRTUAL COHORT 1:

Tuesdays, MARCH 19-MAY 7, 6-9pm – with an expectation of 2 additional hrs asynchronous time for a total of 5 hrs per week for a total of 40 hrs

VIRTUAL COHORT 2:

Thursdays, MARCH 21-MAY 9, 6-9pm – with an expectation of 2 additional hrs asynchronous time for a total of 5 hrs per week for a total of 40 hrs

VIRTUAL COHORT 3:

Saturdays, MARCH 23-MAY 11, 9am-12pm – with an expectation of 2 additional hrs asynchronous time for a total of 5 hrs per week for a total of 40 hrs

VIRTUAL COHORT 4:

Mondays, MARCH 25-MAY 13, 6-9pm – with an expectation of 2 additional hrs asynchronous time for a total of 5 hrs per week for a total of 40 hrs

HYBRID COHORT 5:

JUNE 3-6 (M-Th), 9am-4pm – at Southeastern (with a 45 min lunch (27 hrs total)) with an expectation of 13 additional hrs asynchronous time for a total of 40 hrs
